Insurance company Halifax Home said they saw an almost 50 percent increase in garden claims last year. Admiral also said garden thefts in 2020 were higher than in the previous five years. CCTV footage of items being stolen overnight appeared on the BBC One show.

Other thieves broke into a garden centre to steal statues weighing over 100kg each.
In Leicester, another resident had their bird table stolen, while in Nottingham, a homeowner had flowers pulled from their beds in the middle of the night.

With Britons spending more time at home during lockdown, garden improvements and renovations have spiked.
If you're worried about your garden furniture being nabbed in the night, BBC presenter and former police officer and security guard Rav Wilding has shared his tips for ensuring your garden ornaments stay safe.
He said: "Lock up your tools, lock up your valuables.
"Not only can a thief steal them, they can also use them to break into your home.

"And when it comes to padlocks, my advice is simple - the bigger the better.
"Look at your garden, where is it dark?
"Where are the potential hiding places? Light it up. Burglars hate being seen."
If your furniture is stolen, it's a good idea to make sure it's identifiable.
Rav recommended marking it with a marker pen so you can easily identify it.
He said: "Also consider marking your garden furniture or ornaments with a permanent marker in a discreet place.
"That way, if they are stolen, they're easy to identify.
"Where you can, chain items together or to a wall if you're leaving them outside.

"Finally, CCTV. It's proof and probably your best chance at catching the crooks if they do strike.
"Loads of us have spent time and money getting our gardens just how we want them and with these little extra efforts, hopefully we'll stop thieves ruining them."
